Circuit Analysis
Chipworks conducts circuit analysis on devices to establish whether or not there is any evidence of use of invention.
Basic circuit analysis consists of:
- Review patent to determine key elements
- Remove microchip and analyze die to determine if such elements may be present
- Microscopic analysis of areas of interest
- Examine/read-back low or high-level functional blocks to establish methods of connection and operation
- Circuit analysis is sometimes performed in conjunction with process analysis or systems analysis to better understand total circuit functions
Sample types of circuits:
- Stand-alone and embedded memory
- Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and other gate arrays
- Analog-to-digital converters (ADC) and digital-to-analog converters (DAC)
- PLLs and clock generators
- Wired and wireless devices, including transceivers and mixers
- Microprocessors, DSPs and microcontrollers
- RFIDs and smartcard chips
- CMOS, BCDMOS, Bipolar, BiCMOS,
- Power semiconductors
Clients can take the results of our analysis and generate a stronger claim in their litigation or licensing negotiations. Our analysis is always confidential, accurate, reliable and timely.
